Key dates

• Voter registration deadline: October 5, 2026. Online and in-person registration closes at 4:00 p.m. local time. Mailed applications must be postmarked by October 5.
• Last day to request a mail-in absentee ballot: October 20, 2026. Requests close at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time. A mail-in ballot requires an excuse. The county clerk must receive your ballot by 6:00 p.m. local time on Election Day.
• Excused in-person early voting: October 21, 2026 to October 28, 2026. Only for voters with a qualifying excuse. Open on weekdays: Oct 21–23 and Oct 26–28.
• No-excuse in-person early voting: October 29, 2026 to October 31, 2026. Open to all voters Thursday through Saturday. Your county sets the hours and locations.
• Election Day: November 3, 2026. Polls are open 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. local time (Eastern or Central). If you are in line at 6:00 p.m., you can still vote.
