Where Hamilton stands

Housing
Proposes more affordable, income-restricted subsidized units and more affordable homes for residents who earn too much for housing programs. Also proposes audits of housing waitlists and housing agencies.
Federal intervention and home rule
Supports D.C. statehood or a constitutional amendment to secure home rule. Says she would organize residents and lobbyists to speed up either path.
Immigration enforcement
Says she does not approve of federal immigration enforcement in the District. Says ICE activity has strained police relationships with families.
Public safety
Says she would support law enforcement while requiring accountability and transparency, and opposes over-policing. Proposes an audit of the Metropolitan Police Department.
Youth curfews
Says youth curfews do not work. Argues that a curfew signals the government has no solution, and links youth issues to the cost of living keeping parents at work.
Health care / behavioral health
Proposes integrating behavioral health care and general medical care. Says combining the two would lower costs for patients.
Government accountability
Proposes auditing city agencies in her first days in office to create continuity among them, starting with the housing agencies.
