Where Dye stands

Taxes / IRS
Proposes abolishing the IRS and replacing most federal taxes with a single-rate Universal Transaction Tax on every exchange of money. He would then raise the rate and cut government until the deficit and debt are paid off.
Universal basic income / welfare
Proposes paying every citizen a Universal Basic Income and eliminating the welfare bureaucracy, alongside cuts to entitlement programs.
National debt / federal spending
Says both parties have spent heavily and warns the economy will crash if the growth of the national debt is not reversed. Supports balancing the budget by cutting government.
Property tax
Calls the property tax a regressive wealth tax and supports ending it.
Social Security / retirement
Proposes converting the Social Security, Medicare and federal employee trust funds into a sovereign wealth fund and moving government pensions to 401(k)s. Opposes pensions for politicians.
Foreign policy / military
Supports bringing U.S. troops home, defending North America under a renewed Monroe Doctrine, and lending military support only when allies are attacked. Supports suspending all foreign aid.
United Nations / diplomacy
Proposes withdrawing from the UN until every member is a democracy and cutting ties with dictatorships.
Immigration / citizenship
Proposes treating U.S. citizenship as an individual property right that citizens could sell. Government, corporations or charities could buy or subsidize citizenships for newcomers.
Role of government
Says most things government manages are not legitimate government functions. Pledges to work to reduce or eliminate them rather than expand them.
